This past Saturday at Chabot College in Hayward, the 12U Gauchos defeated the Daly City Stars 28-0 to advance to the SYFL NFC Super Bowl as the Northern California representative.
They will travel to Long Beach, Ca and face the undefeated #2 nationally ranked Diamond Valley Steelers November 28th, who are coached by legendary music & entertainment icon Snoop Dogg. The founder and namesake of the SYFL is currently filming his 8 episode, reality series which has followed his team throughout the season. The series, which is produced under Snoop's Snoopadelic Films imprint, has had film crews follow his team throughout California, Texas & Florida this season.
The Gauchos, (9-1) will make the trek south to Long Beach November 27th to play in the November 28th SYFL Super Bowl game hosted at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Long Beach. "This is once and a lifetime opportunity for our kids and our program," said President Keith Ducey. "Our kids have the opportunity to showcase their talents and represent our community against some of the best talent that Southern California has to offer while receiving added exposure. We are extremely proud of our kids and their resilience to keep working hard all season long and now they have reached their goal advancing to the Super Bowl."
Also, the Gaucho 11u Jr. Peewee team has also advanced to the Super Bowl and will face Willie McGinnest's Long Beach Patriots. Super Bowl game winners will advance to the SYFL Final Four which features The NFC California, AFC California, Texas & Colorado winners. A trip of this nature is a huge undertaking and the Gauchos are seeking financial assistance in the form of sponsors and donations in order to offset travel, lodging and meal expenses for the kids. We are also seeking logo sponsors for our official game banner. We have included the information as well.
