MERCED, CA - A report of 6-8 shots fired in the area of Amtrak station and one person has been confirmed wounded. One report stated two sets of shots were heard, 3 to 4 each time.

Victim was shot twice, once in each leg.

Witnesses in the area have identified the wounded man as being related to the store's owner, but we don't know if it was an attempted robbery at this time. The victim is reported to have been shot twice, once in each of his legs. The victim's injuries does not appear to be life threatening.
