WINTON, CA - The Merced County Sheriffs department, Cal Fire and Riggs responded to a 1:30 a.m. accident that occurred in the area of Walnut Ave just north of Sultana. A witness on-scene stated that the driver was pinned and that 6 Cal Fire rescuers were able to free the driver.

A family member reported the driver was at an area hospital in critical condition and  in surgery right now trying to save his leg. He is also on life support and authorities are still investigating the accident.
