Barbara Levey, Merced County Assessor, Clerk-Recorder, & Registrar of Voters, announced today that, in accordance with the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California, an election will be held in Merced County on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 for the following offices:

FEDERAL & STATE OFFICES:

President of the United States

United States Senator

United States Representative in Congress, 16th District

California State Assembly Member, District 21

COUNTY CENTRAL COMMITTEES:

Democrat Party- 22 Members (allotted by Supervisorial District)

Peace and Freedom Party- 2 Members (Countywide)

JUDICIAL OFFICES:

Judge of the Superior Court, Office # 3

Judge of the Superior Court, Office # 5

Judge of the Superior Court, Office # 6

Judge of the Superior Court, Office # 8

Judge of the Superior Court, Office # 12

COUNTY OFFICES:

Merced County Supervisor, District 1

Merced County Supervisor, District 2

Merced County Supervisor, District 4

IMPORTANT FILING DATES:

January 4, 2016 to February 10, 2016: Signature in Lieu of Filing Fee Period

Judicial Offices Only

January 4, 2016 to February 25, 2016: Signature in Lieu of Filing Fee Period

All Other Offices

February 1, 2016 to February 10, 2016: Declaration of Intention Period

Judicial Offices Only

February 16, 2016 to March 11, 2016: Nomination/Declaration of Candidacy Period

May 23, 2016: Last day to register to vote in this election

Candidates for any of the aforementioned offices must obtain and file nomination papers in the office of the Registrar of Voters, located at 2222 M Street, Room 14, Merced, California. The Registrar of Voters will issue and file documents during normal business hours, Monday through Friday (excluding recognized holidays).
