MERCED, CA - A newcomer to the arena of politics is now challenging District 2 County Supervisor, Hub Walsh, who has been in the seat for 8 years. Lee Lor met with Merced County residents at her official campaign launch party yesterday at Five Ten Bistro in Merced. With over 100 people in attendance, Lor met and discussed her ideas with voters who are looking for a real and strong leader to tackle the difficult issues Merced County faces.
"My vision is a thriving future," said Lee Lor to MCNTVNews.com. " We will achieve it by building a community of action with safe neighborhoods, efficient development and Merced as an economic engine."
The 33-year-old Lee, who is an assistant to the Merced County Office of Education Superintendent, says residents are not content with what she refers to as inaction at the county level. "People telling me we can't because, "We are going to upset people."" she said, "We can't because, "We have always done it this way." ... or "We are still looking into it." ... It's never, "How can we make this happen?" It's never, "How can we accommodate you?" or "How can we tweak your idea to make it work for everybody?" ... There's always roadblocks. It's the taking action that's lacking."
Lee Lor graduated from Atwater High School in 2000, is married to Ben Lor and raising four children. "Please join our campaign for a better Merced County," she said.
